Fraber is established with the aim to introduce an innovative method of packaging food products onto the market. Then to meet the needs of the wartime period, Fraber shifts towards the production of paper containers for cartridges and ammunition. Once the war is over Fraber returns to its original trade, the production of waxed paper cups and containers for food products.
Following the economic boom, the demand for fast-moving consumer goods rapidly increases, amongst which ice cream “on the go”. Fraber starts working towards introducing a packaging system that can be an alternative to ice cream sugar cones and develops an ice-cream pot in waxed paper. The paper is dipped into a bath of paraffin wax to increase the rigidity of the container and render it waterproof, to prevent any excessive humidity or leaks coming from the product.
Salvatore D'Amato, founder of Seda S.p.A., acknowledged leader in the food packaging industry, decides to invest in the purchase of this historical brand, confident in its success. Cartoprint S.p.A. Prodotti Fraber is born.
Cartoprint introduces poly-coated paper pots onto the market, entirely developed by the Seda Group since 1975. This innovation makes the container safer and more hygienic without altering the organoleptic properties of the food. The transition from waxed to poly-coated paper containers marks a huge turning point for this kind of packaging from both a food safety and durability point of view.
Cartoprint is acknowledged as leader in the paper container customization sector. This goal is achieved through the use of innovative printing technology, as well as the presence of a highly qualified internal graphic department, capable of introducing state-of-the art solutions to the market.
Cartoprint, thanks to Seda's long-running experience in producing aluminium cones for industrial use, introduces a new paper packaging for hygiene safety and the customisation of ice cream cones: the hygienic mini-cone.
Having always given great importance to nature preservation and compliance with the strictest food safety standards, Cartoprint introduces the first products realised with completely biodegradable and compostable ECO paper.
To support the ethical principles of safeguarding the environment, Cartoprint makes a drastic and innovative choice regarding the whole paper product range, investing in the exclusive employment of FSC certified paper which uses only raw materials from sustainably managed, renewable forests.
